One is “1000 Sanshin Group Performance at the Opening Ceremony,” aiming at celebrating the reunion of Uchinanchu and the beginning of the Festival as well as the splendor of Sanshin culture to be inherited over the border and generation, at the opening ceremony of the festival (Thursday October 27).

The Other is “The Grand Sanshin Celebration,” aiming at sending splendor of Sanshin culture to be inherited over the border and generation to achieve further spread and expansion, on the last day of the festival (Sunday October 30).

The songs chosen for “1000 Sanshin Group Performance at the Opening Ceremony” are “Kagiyadefu-bushi” and “Ahabushi,” and chosen for “The Grand Sanshin Celebration” are “Kagiyadefu-bushi,” “Ahabushi,” and “Tinsagunu Hana.” We will welcome those who want to participate in this program and play the sanshin together.

For this performance, the music was specially arranged combining different ryu-ha (styles) of Okinawan traditional performing arts, and a practice video, recorded music by instructors, and kunkunshi (sanshin musical score) are prepared below.
Please use these materials to practice.

Please note that the method and style of the music in this video may not be the same as yours. Thank you for understanding.

Mr. Choichi Terukina, the supervisor of this video, advises: “watch this video and practice in order to perform it in your own way on the day.”
